The protection, expression and visibility of women and feminities as well as systemically excluded groups on account of their gender identities has been the historical backbone of the creation and rhetoric of safe spaces. A safe space in this account is highlighted as an outlet for emotional and physical, personal and relational acceptance and appreciation.
